TROUBLESHOOTING OUR FLOOR SCRUBBER DRYER
Despite routine maintenance, problems can arise with the use of the floor scrubber dryer: some, due to carelessness or simple wear, can be solved with simple procedures to be carried out on our own, while others lead us to turn to authorized service centers.
If the floor scrubber dryer does not start, we may have simply inserted the key incorrectly. Or, the battery connector may be unplugged or poorly connected, so just connect the two connectors correctly. Just as simply, the batteries may be low: if so, recharge them until fully charged.
If the floor scrubber dryer does not move forward, however, we may have left the direction selection lever in the idle position: simply engage the gear. Or the slope of the floor may be too steep and will require a manual push up to a flatter level.
If the brushes on our floor scrubber dryer won't turn, we may just need to flip the motor switch. In case of overheating, on the other hand, the brush motor thermal protection may trip: check, therefore, the reason and press the reset circuit breaker. Even worse, however, could be if the drive belt breaks, possibly to be replaced; likewise, motor relays or the motor itself should be replaced if irreparably broken.
If little or no cleaning solution flows out, it could be due to an empty tank: fill the tank with solution, therefore, after emptying the recovery tank. Just as simply, the flow adjustment lever could be half-closed or fully closed, then adjust the solution flow rate as desired. In the worst case, the cleaning solution filter may be clogged and the duct must be cleared by removing excess dirt. Alternatively, the lid of the recovery tank or the cap of the discharge hose of the tank itself may not be closed properly: just close them correctly.
If the scrubber dryer does not suck in, the suction hose or squeegee duct may be clogged and the ducts should be cleared of any obstructions. If, on the other hand, we ascertain that the suction motor is not receiving power or is burnt out, the connections must be checked and the motor replaced, if necessary.
If our squeegee doesn't clean or dry well, the squeegee blades may be worn and, as a result, drag dirt in - just replace or clean them. Or, the squeegee adjustment will need to be corrected.
If the charger does not work, it may not be connected correctly to the mains outlet or to the battery. If the batteries do not charge or maintain their charge, they may be defective: check the battery manufacturer's user manual and, if the problem persists, replace the damaged batteries or charger.
Now you have all the information and guidance you need to use a floor scrubber dryer properly and perform the usual maintenance job, so as to extend its life and ensure high standards of cleanliness.
