The new version of the Scout semi-professional pressure washers has innovated one of the best-known and most popular models in Comet’s cleaning division.
To appreciate their new benefits even better, this article will compare the 2023 and 2004 versions of these efficient home and professional cleaning machines.
In fact, it was almost twenty years ago that Comet first launched this hot-water electric pressure washer on the market, which was so practical, handy and versatile that it soon became one of the flagship products in the brand’s cleaning range, recommended for both home and professional cleaning and work environments.

In this new article, however, we wish to compare the models of the first version - Scout 135 and Scout 150 - with those of the new one, so that we can appreciate in detail all the improvements Comet has made.
THE BENEFITS OF THE NEW SCOUT MODELS: REVAMPED DESIGN
Let’s start with the first and most obvious change: the look. Since 2004, in fact, Scout semi-professional pressure washers had undergone only minor restyling and were, therefore, aesthetically dated.
The new Scout washers, on the other hand, come with a completely revamped and modern look, a design that perfectly mixes bold and rounded lines to enhance the compactness and aggressiveness of the machine.
The colors and side grooves on the casing, the honeycomb grille on the front as well as the wheels create a family line that is more updated and aligned with the features of the current market.
MORE POWERFUL PUMPS
The most important plus, however, is what you get on performance. If the old Scout washers mounted a 9 l/min - 150 bar and 10 l/min - 135 bar KSR axial pump, while the new Scout models come in 2 different versions:
- KSR axial pump 9 l/min - 150 bar
- LW-K 250 triplex pump 10 l/min - 160 bar
PRACTICAL AND COMPACT
Scout and Scout Evo have retained one of their most valued features: compactness, which has always been superior to models in the same category.
Size remains a strong plus:
- Width 57 cm
- Height 89.5 cm (with handle)
- Depth 82 cm
To further increase practicality, the fixed handle has been replaced with a removable handle allowing its height to be reduced to only 75 centimeters.
Because the handle can be easily removed, the new Scout models have small dimensions and can be easily transported in a station wagon, SUV or minivan.
Functional space inside the machine has also been improved, with greater accessibility to the motor pump and other internal components to promote head maintenance jobs.
LARGE WHEELS, ADDITIONAL PROTECTIONS
The first version of the Scout pressure washers was not equipped with any protection. Now Comet has added protective bumpers on both the front and back of the machines. In addition to shielding against impacts, the bumpers also serve as an anchoring point for lifting straps.
Maneuverability – which was already good, thanks to the 260-millimeter-diameter rear wheels - was improved by replacing the brake-free front wheels with new pivoting, brake-equipped wheels.
DETAILS AND ACCESSORIES
It is the details that make the new Scout models even more excellent and practical pressure washers to use in all conditions.
The built-in diesel tank with cap now has a removable filter, while the detergent tank - which before was built in the lower casing - is now 3.5-liter, removable and easy to access; in addition, detergent can be sucked in directly from the external tank.
As for the lance holder, double rubber-backed rings have been fitted in the new versions, which greatly increase stability.
The GH 251 spraying gun, previously found on all models, was joined by the GH281 spraying gun with pressure regulator on the Scout Evo.
Finally, Wika new professional glycerin-filled pressure gauge enables more accurate and reliable pressure measurement.
